• Working at the Brookings Institution

  • Researching AI policy for a book on national and international security

  • Automating internal comms systems with AI

• Scoping startups and orgs in automated intelligence, AI verification, and uplift consulting

• Exploring AI policy research grants to traditional think tanks

 

My other roles include:

• Ellison Scholar at the University of Oxford

• Expert Collaborator at the MIT AI Risk Initiative

• Research Fellow at the Institute for Replication

• General Committee Member at the Oxford AI Safety Initiative

• Senior Committee Member at the Oxford AI Futures Collective

 

I’ve primarily:

• Researched AI policy and global priorities, incl. publications at PNAS and ICLR (see Papers)

• Reviewed papers for NeurIPS

• Advised World Bank/UN policy forecasts for 47 countries with the IMF

• Collaborated with Oxford’s Global Priorities Institute

• A policy brief whose recommendation was implemented by the US and UK governments

• An economics paper on rationality published in the Journal of Development Economics
